Whispers on Paper
Every day, I write a handwritten note and leave it somewhere on the SDSU campus. A stranger finds it. That's the whole point. Anonymous encouragement, one sticky note at a time.
Why I Do This
College is hard. Everyone is stressed, rushing somewhere, thinking about exams or deadlines or relationships. I wanted to create small moments of pause. A reminder that someone out there is thinking about people they've never met, hoping they have a good day.
The anonymity is the point. I don't sign them. I don't wait around to see reactions. It's not about me getting credit. It's about the note standing on its own, a small gift with no strings attached.
Sometimes I wonder who finds them. A freshman having a rough week. A senior stressed about the future. A professor dealing with something I'll never know about. The notes don't discriminate. They're for whoever needs them in that moment.
What I Write
Simple things. Not cheesy motivational quotes. Just honest reminders. "You're doing better than you think." "Take a breath. You'll figure it out." "Someone is proud of you." Things I would want to hear on a hard day.
I try to make them feel personal even though they're universal. The handwriting matters. It's not typed or printed. Someone sat down and wrote this. That effort shows.
